Cattery Menu:

We choose to feed our guests a premium quality dried food that we believe provides all the nutrients your cat requires.
Black Hawk Natural Pet Food made in Australia is about naturally nourishing pets from the inside out.
Made with real meat and veggies, with no fillers or nasties, we offer a choice of four delicious flavours for our feline guests, including two grain free options.
There is also a blackboard menu of various wet foods for the fussiest of eaters, e.g. fresh beef, veal, tuna, fish and various brands of canned jellimeat………..no one goes hungry at Ashley Boarding Cattery.

Please Note: If your cat is on a Veterinary prescribed diet, you will need to provide your own food. We do not offer any discount if you provide your own food.

Cattery Lodgings:

Ashley Boarding Cattery is proud to be an AsureQuality approved premises. This means that our facility has passed a rigorous annual audit requiring us to meet high standards of animal welfare. It also means we are authorised to display the AsureQuality logo on our premises and on our marketing material.

Our cattery currently comprises 56 units – 36 single, 6 double & 14 indoor/outdoor family units – each with two beds, a large window to let sunshine in, full heating and insulation for winter warmth, airy ventilation in summer, and a secure entrance. Measuring 2.2 x 1.8 x 1.2 metres, our individual units were built to the former New Zealand Boarding Kennel and Cattery Association standards and greatly exceed the industry minimum.

We provide individual units, rather than communal living, which we believe reduces any risk of cross-infection. Your cat can snuggle in to his or her bed, with covered extra thick duvet inners and a large fleece blanket. Baskets and scratch towers are also provided. Your cat’s comfort is important to us, and so is his/her security. All cattery wings have smoke and heat detectors which are linked to the properties residence and monitored 24 hrs per day by Code 9 Security.

Ashley Boarding Cattery Care:

Although our cattery can never be home, on-site owners Donna & Steve, along with our Vet Nurses and other qualified staff, will go the extra mile for you and your feline friends. Cats love to play, so we include various toys in each of our units. Not too many, just enough to give your cat some extra textures, sounds and shapes to keep them stimulated. We service each cats unit a minimum of three times per day. If your cat is used to daily grooming we will happily oblige. Daily cuddles and affection also come standard, and soothing background music helps calm nervous clients. Young kittens and elderly cats that need to be frequently monitored are specially catered for. All special needs, diet and health issues can be accommodated. Our experienced staff will happily administer any medication your cat requires during their stay with us whether it be temporary or part of an on-going regime. And while there is a small charge for us to administer and monitor medications, insulin and other complicated medication programs can be catered for. We have a comfortable isolation unit available should the need arise and we can also arrange vet visits for any of our feline guests. Our cattery has access to a local Vet who is on-call for the cattery 24 hours 7 days. This essential service is provided to us by PAWS at Woodend. 

Cat Health:

Vaccinations must be administered at least 10 days prior to check-in. Every cat needs to be vaccinated against the 3 core diseases – feline panleucopaenia (infectious enteritis), feline herpesvirus and feline calicivirus (both causes of “cat flu”). We must site your vaccination card prior to admitting your cat into the cattery.

Please ensure your cat is free of fleas and worms. Should the need arise to treat your cat for either of these parasites, you will incur a $15.00 charge. NOTE: Please do not use a flea collar. Use a reputable product such as Frontline, Advantage, Broadline or Revolution only.

Memorial Garden:

There is an established Pet Memorial Garden at the rear of the cattery. The garden was started in memory of our beloved Bengal, Kenzo, who was tragically killed on the road two weeks after we purchased the cattery. We can now offer our clients, or any cat owner, the option of our memorial garden as a final resting place for their cat. You can follow the progress of the memorial garden on our facebook page.

CatTaxi:

We also offer a free local pick-up and delivery service within the Rangiora area (Rangiora, Loburn, Ohoka, Amberley, Kaiapoi & Pegasus). Arrangements can be made to transport your cat to and from any area in Christchurch, however this will incur a $20 charge each way. We can also deliver or collect your cat from Christchurch Airport and there is a $20 fee for this service.

Opening Hours:

Our cattery is open for check-in, check-out or viewing between the hours of 9am – 12pm & 4pm – 7pm seven days a week. Other times strictly by arrangement. (We are closed Xmas day & Boxing day).
A surcharge of $50 will apply to all out of hours pickups or drop-offs whether pre-arranged or not. No exceptions.

Please read our Terms & Conditions before dropping off your cat. A signed acceptance of our Terms & Conditions (click to view) is a pre-requisite of admittance.

Boarding Charges:

Discounted rates may be available depending on
length of stay. Please ask for a quote at time of enquiry.

Please note the following:
A minimum charge of $40 for a single unit applies to every booking or $60 for a double unit.

Medication charge:
$2.00 per day for up to two medications 
$3.00 per day for three medications or more

Out of Hours:
$50 surcharge for out of hours pick-up or drop-off
